Get started with Domain Lab in just a few minutes
Welcome to Domain Lab
Domain Lab helps you monitor your domains for SSL certificate expiration, DNS changes, and other critical events. This guide will walk you through setting up your account and adding your first domain to monitor.

Create Your Account
Step 1.1: Register
- Navigate to the registration page
- Enter your email address and create a strong password
- Click "Create Account" to proceed
- Check your email for a verification link and click it to activate your account
Step 1.2: First Login
- Go to the login page
- Enter your email and password
- You'll be redirected to the dashboard after successful authentication

Configure Notification Preferences
Step 2.1: Access Preferences
- From the dashboard, click on your profile menu (top-right corner)
- Select "Preferences" from the dropdown menu
- Or navigate directly to /preferences
Step 2.2: Set Up Notification Providers
- In the Preferences page, scroll to the "Notification Settings" section
- Choose your preferred notification methods (optional):
- Pushover: Add your Pushover User Key and App Token
- Webhook: Configure a webhook URL for custom integrations
- Test each notification method using the "Test" buttons
- Save your preferences
Step 2.3: Configure Event Notification Preferences
- Scroll to the "Event Notification Preferences" section
- Enable notifications for the events you want to monitor:
- DNS Change Detected: Get notified when DNS records change
- Domain Expired/Expiring: Monitor domain registration status
- SSL Cert Expired/Expiring: Track SSL certificate expiration
- Name Server Change Detected: Monitor DNS server changes
- Failed Domain Monitor: Alerts when domain scanning fails
- For expiring events (Domain/SSL), set advance warning periods:
- Domain expiring: 90, 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry
- SSL expiring: 30, 14, 7, and 1 days before expiry
- Recommendation: Enable at least one type of notification to stay informed about your domains

Add Your First Domain
Step 3.1: Navigate to Add Domain
- From the dashboard, top level menu item of Domains
- On the top right, click the "Add Domain" button
- Or navigate to /domain/add
Step 3.2: Enter Domain Information
- Enter your domain name(s):
- Single domain: "example.com" (without http/https)
- Multiple domains: "example.com, mydomain.com, anothersite.org" (comma-separated)
- Select monitoring frequency:
- Daily (Recommended): Most comprehensive monitoring
- Weekly: Less frequent checks
- Click "Add Domain" to save
Step 3.3: Verify Domain Setup
- After adding the domain, you'll be redirected to the domain details page
- Verify that the domain is showing as "Active" status
- Check that all selected monitoring options are enabled
- Review the initial scan results and SSL certificate information
You're All Set!
What Happens Next?
- Domain Lab will begin monitoring your domain. Note: Our domain monitor initial scan may take a few minutes to complete.
- You'll receive notifications based on your configured preferences
- Visit the dashboard regularly to view monitoring status and insights
- Add more domains as needed using the same process
